Still pinpoints Exiles’ main threats

Still said: “(Chris) Zebroski, he’s all right, he’s been around for a while, he always causes problems.

“He can score a goal, is quite strong, reasonably quick, we’ve got to make sure we keep an eye on him.

“(Lee) Minshull’s decent, a strong midfield player. He’s a big lad, can get in the box and get on the end of crosses.

“(Ismail) Yakubu at the back, who I had as as young boy at Barnet many years ago, has done well.

“We all thought he had a bright future at Barnet and it sort of slipped away a little bit, but he’s done quite well there.

“They’re another one of these, if you looked at them it’s their team ethic, a bit like ours, which is really strong.”

Although Newport are on the run of one defeat in 13 league games, with boss Justin Edinburgh losing out to Still for the manager of the month award, Luton’s chief wasn’t reading anything into that for this encounter.

He said: “Their form at the moment is quite good, but in the cups, I never worry about form.

“I always think at the end of the season, 46 games, best team wins the league. You might not be the best team in the last five games, or the first five games. You might not be the best team in December or January, but over 40-odd games, it’s the best team.

“The FA Cup’s not like that. The best doesn’t always win the cup.

“Anyone can be at their best on the day and can beat you, we just need to make sure we’re at our best.

“I’ve had good teams not do well in the FA Cup and had teams that haven’t done so great who have done quite well in the cup, so we’ve got to make sure we’re right and expect them to be right.”

When asked if he felt the dreaded manager of the month curse would strike at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, Still added: “I don’t believe in it all. If the team’s good enough it will win, if it isn’t, it won’t. It’s nothing to do with winning an award.”
