A first half blitz saw Town score four goals in just eight astonishing minutes as they simply blew their shell-shocked opponents away.

Still said: “We’ve played very well. I always say that every game is tough, it is before the game, their record here is exemplary, but we’ve really played well.

“In the first half, some of our movement was outstanding. Scoring the goals and all of them good goals, well taken goals.

“I said at half time, the important thing now is not to take step back and we didn’t. We scored another well-worked goal, and it was another very, very good performance.”

Andre Gray and Paul Benson proved a lethal combination once again, with Gray scoring his 11th and 12 goals of the campaign, making it six in his last four games.

Benson also had his seventh strike in Town colours, while Luke Guttridge and Alex Lawless were on target as Still continued: “The understanding between the front two is first class.

“Paul has come in and been a massive help to Andre, the two of them work perfectly well together.

“It’s all right having decent front men, but it’s like having pairs, combinations and I think we do have a good combination there.

“The quality of the goals was the pleasing thing as the movement from our front two was outstanding and Luke (Guttridge) linking up with the front two.

“Touch pass, pass move, we work really hard on it and some days it doesn’t quite all to go plan but it did, and I’m delighted with it.”

Although Town cut the gap on leaders Cambridge to a mere point, Still wasn’t going overboard on extending their unbeaten league to an impressive 14 games.

He added: “I’m never one to overkill anything. Fortunately our finishing was first class and it was a good day for us.

“It’s just a small part on a long road though, I’m very pleased, I might not sound it but I am.

“All over the pitch we were first class, and for a performance we couldn’t have asked for more.

“You can only control the controllables, we can only go out and play, we can’t worry about Cambridge or anyone else.

“We can’t affect other people. If we play well every week and compete ever week, I’ll know we’ve have done everything we can do.”
