Hatters boss John Still blasted one of his players for a lack of discipline in the build-up to Oxford United’s last-gasp equaliser at Kenilworth Road this afternoon.

During the post match huddle, an angry Still appeared to aiming his frustration in the direction of full back Scott Griffiths, and although not naming names when speaking to the press afterwards, he said: “One player I was talking to. I was very animated and very angry. I wasn’t happy with one of my players.

“It’s nothing to do with playing good, bad or indifferent, but a lack of discipline that led to them getting the ball to score the goal.

“He’s only got to do one thing, he knows what he’s got to do. Small things, small margins. People don’t trip over a mountain, they trip up the kerb because it’s small and you don’t see it.

“Well, you’ve got to make sure you keep all of the small things in check and we had a great opportunity to do that, and we didn’t. They regained the ball and it came from that.

“Was it actually the reason Mark Tyler missed the ball? Not it wasn’t but that situation wouldn’t have happened. It all came from us and was just that little bit of discipline, so we’ll learn from that and I’ll deal with it Monday.”

Still did however absolve keeper Mark Tyler from any criticism after the recalled veteran spilt a cross into the box during stoppage time, which allowed Oxford to rescue a point.

On the keeper, who had no chance with the first goal, a deflected Kemar Roofe effort, he added: “It’s football and Mark would 99 times out of 100 deal with the second one, but he didn’t, so we had to go with a point.

“There’s not a lot you can do about the first one. We defended our box terrifically, and made him shoot from a way out. It’s hit someone and it goes in, that’s football, we’ll live with that.

“We made the choice of playing him as we went with the three centre halve. We just felt that he played with the three centre halves the other day and we wanted to leave that there.

“A mistake is a mistake and we all make mistakes. Sometimes you don’t get punished for them, sometimes you do.

“Mark’s been brilliant for us, so we haven’t got any problems with that.
