“It does change quickly and if we can get a favourable result or two over the weekend, maybe two more wins would get us in there.

“It’s got to be positivity and not negativity from everyone. We might win the last four games, and that last four might be enough to get us in the play-offs in great spirits as we’ve won four on the trot, that’s football, that’s how it works.

Although in their first season back in the Football League after a five year hiatus in the Conference, Still admitted he wouldn’t have accepted just a play-off place when the campaign began.

He added: “Would we have settled for finishing seventh, eighth, ninth, 10th, before the season started? I wouldn’t.

“Would the club? Possibly. But I wouldn’t, because when the season starts, I want to settle for coming first.

“It’s important I always feel that the football team and football club has to grow, and we’ll have grown from last season.

“We could be at the bottom end scraping to stay up, it’s a tough league, we’re having it tough, but we’ve got to be tough.”
