Still to make a decision on Davis and Mawson

Town boss John Still will explore the possibility of keeping both Joe Davis and Alfie Mawson after their loans ran out yesterday, writes Mike Simmonds.

Port Vale defender Davis produced a starring role during Luton’s hard fought 0-0 draw at Lincoln City yesterday, his ninth appearance for the club.

Mawson, borrowed from Brentford, was an unused substitute once more, and has only played 45 minutes due to an injury suffered against Alfreton Town.

Still said: “I’ve been that busy, that I’ve not spoken to them, not spoken to their clubs and not even spoken to my staff.

“But what we’ll do between now and Monday, we’ll decide about them.

“We need to look at the fitness of (Andy) Parry, see how (Alex) Lacey is.

“I feel sorry for Alfie, but Joe’s been excellent and I thought he was excellent again with the timing of his tackles.

“I’ve been delighted with Joe, delighted with Pelly (Ruddock Mpanzu) too.

“Our loans have been good, so we’ll have another look and see where we are in a day or two.”
