After seeing his team draw their opening League Two clash of the campaign, 1-1 at Accrington Stanley on Saturday, Still revealed that both the personnel and formation would be tinkered with for the visit of the Robins who went down 2-0 against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.

With Hatters hosting Oxford United on Saturday and then Bristol Rovers next Tuesday before a trip to Yeovil the following weekend, he said: “We’re going to alter the system around a little bit and give an opportunity to some of those players who weren’t involved on Saturday.

“We did something similar last season against Swindon and we know it’ll be a tough game as these are the sorts of matches that you can really learn a lot from.

“We found when we matches up against Brentford in our recent friendly we were able to play in a way which helped us a find a result.

“Steve Cotterill (Bristol City boss) has done a fine job and we know it’ll be a difficult game but this test will allow us to find a lot more about the squad and their capabilities.

“Playing against better quality players from a higher division will make our players better. Playing against Championship opposition so early in the season could really stand us in good stead for the rest of the campaign.”
