Still unsure on extent of Guttridge injury

Town boss John Still wasn’t sure how bad midfielder Luke Guttridge’s injury was after he had to be stretchered off against Alfreton Town yesterday, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 31-year-old left the field on 70 minutes as Still said: “We’ll have a look and see what it is, but at the moment I dont know.”

Guttridge made it three successive games on the scoresheet with his 13th goal of an increasingly impressive campaign as the Hatters manager continued: “Paul (Benson), Gutts can score goals, that’s why we want them in the final third areas.

“I’ve known Luke for a long time and he can play deeper, but he’s a threat further up the pitch because he can score goals, so we’re getting the best out of the players at the moment.”

Defender Scott Griffiths echoed Still’s thoughts as he said: “He’s done well to get the first strike off and to be able to react as well as he did too.

“I just hope he’s okay. I haven’t heard what actually happened yet, so all the best to him.”

Meanwhile, midfielder Cameron McGeehan added: “Another big 3-0 win against third place Alfreton, fans were great and hope gutts is going to be ok.”
