Still waiting to hear back from QPR over Harriman

The defender has spent the last three months on loan at Kenilworth Road, but that expired after Thursday’s 0-0 draw with Shrewsbury Town.

Harriman, who has impressed greatly during his 17 appearances, is still training with Luton, and speaking at his press conference this afternoon, Still said: “We havent had anything confirmed with QPR so far on Michael Harriman, we’ve been working on it daily, it’s still ongoing.

“I’ve spoken to QPR. Chris Ramsey (Rangers academy coach) rang me and they’re going to ring sometime after lunch.

“But hopefully we can get that over the line in either a loan to the end of the season or permanent, so I’m pretty hopeful on that.”

With Town travelling to Plymouth Argyle this weekend, Still could hand Paul Connolly his first league start since the 1-0 reverse to the Greens on September 6 if a deal can’t be agreed.

He continued: “Paul Connolly is fit and has done very well in development games, so we do have that, but Michael’s done very, very well and it would be a blow to lose him.

“I think a lot of it is there’s been quite a few changes at QPR below first team level, with Les Ferdinand going in, Chris Ramsey going in, Ian Butterworth going in.

“So it’s almost getting someone to make a decision on how they see Michael’s future there.

“We have been talking today and will talk again this afternoon and hopefully find a resolution.”

Team-mate Scott Griffiths hopes a transfer can be pushed through as he added: “He has done well, he’s come in and settled in nicely, he gets along with the lads and has been an asset to the club.

“It would be nice if he can extend his loan or depending on what QPR want to do, get a permanent. It’s up to him ultimately, but it will be nice if we can get him.”
