Last season, Hatters needed just a win to seal the title, but in front of a baying and expectant crowd, fell 3-0 behind to the Iron and went on to lose 3-2.

Another huge attendance is expected at Kenilworth Road to mark Town’s first home match back in the Football League since the 2008-09 season and Still said: “The lads have been looking forward to it and I would say the supporters have been looking forward to it even more, probably for five or six seasons, so everyone’s quite excited about it.

“We have to make sure that excitement doesn’t spill over to what I call a Braintree moment, where we had all but won the league.

“There was a carnival atmosphere and I think the players got caught up with that a little bit, but I’d like to think that isn’t the case.

“It’s going to be a great atmosphere and a great occasion for the football club, I have to say that, everyone’s looking forward to it.

People should learn from experiences though and that’s how I see it.”
