Striker Jayden Stockley has targeted a strong February at home for Town to well and truly cement their League Two promotion credentials.

Luton are unbeaten on home soil in the league since September 6, entertain struggling York City this evening, before welcoming Carlisle United on Saturday.

Trips to Mansfield Town and AFC Wimbledon then follow, before Luton are back at Kenilworth Road to host Accrington Stanley.

Stockley, who netted his first goal for Town in the 1-1 draw with Oxford at the weekend, said: “We’ve got to finish this month strong and pick up points, definitely from our home games.

“Those will be the ones we’ll be going into looking for three points.

“I was very pleased to get off and running and hopefully there’s more to come in the home games that we’ve got this week, so hopefully that’s the first of many.”

Stockley has been played as the lone striker in recent games, but with Luton looking more potent against Oxford when Alex Wall and Mark Cullen were paired upfront during the second half, Town manager John Still admitted he wouldn’t be adverse to changing formation if he felt it was warranted.

The boss added: “In my 18 months here, it’s been a success playing a system everyone’s comfortable with.

“If we want to change, we can and when different players become available, it does allow you a little bit more freedom to change the system.

“Jayden being from Bournemouth, he’s used to playing one upfront. Can he play with a two? Probably. But if he hasn’t played with a two, it can give you a little bit of a problem.

“We’ve played with one up front so it’s tinkering with things without taking away your best opportunity.

“If things are going well with what you’re doing, there’s no need to change.

“As we found Saturday, that little change probably helped us. It’s something that we can have as an option on if we needed to change.”
