Sweet admits interest in Town’s transfer-listed quintet

Luton Town managing director Gary Sweet has admitted they have received interest in some of their transfer-listed players, writes Mark Wood.

Scott Rendell, Arnaud Mendy, Simon Ainge, Lathaniel Rowe-Turner and Dean Brill were all made available at the end of last season, but the Hatters are determined not to strengthen any of their rivals as a result.

Sweet said: “There have been one or two offers but they haven’t quite suited us at times. We are not necessarily after the transfer fees, neither are we looking to help competitive clubs take our ex-players.

“We have got to be quite diligent on that and do the right things for the football club.”
