Tigers need no motivation as they bid to cause upset

Gloucester City boss David Mehew believes his side won’t need any motivation for tonight’s FA Trophy third round tie against the Hatters.

And he’s hoping that his side will be able to create a real shock at Kenilworth Road this evening.

He saidL “It’s a freebie, and I hope the lads don’t freeze.

“If I’ve to give a motivational speech, then the players are at the wrong club.

“If they play their strongest team they’ll probably win but, if they have an off day, we can cause an upset.”

The Blue Square North side are only normally watched by around 300 supporters but a large number of those are expected to make the trek to Bedfordshire.

And Mehew insists he has sone his homework, saying: “I’ve spoken to the manager at Uxbridge, who Luton played in the last round so we know quite a bit about them.

“This is the type of game we want week in, week out and the boys will be out to impress.

“There have been a lot of games over the years where we have let ourselves down ourselves down in cup competitions.

“Lowestoft in the FA Cup last season still rankles with me.

“But we’ll be up for it and we’ll give them a game.”
