Town admit interest in Grimsby striker Connell

HATTERS have admitted they would be interested in signing prolific Grimsby Town marksmen Alan Connell, writes Mark Wood.

Reports in the north claim the Mariners have already snubbed two ‘derisory’ bids for the striker who scored 29 goals in the Conference last season.

Scunthorpe, Stevenage, Gillingham, AFC Wimbledon and Luton are all reported to be monitoring the 28-year-old and, although the Hatters deny having made a bid, they are certainly interested.

Manager Gary Brabin said: “He is certainly a player that I like, but we haven’t made any bids for him.”
