Luton boss Nathan Jones believes the club could have a 'wonderful player' on their hands if midfielder Eunan O’Kane can rediscover his best form with the Hatters next season.

The 29-year-old joined on an 18-month loan agreement from Championship rivals Leeds United during the January transfer window, to continue the rehabilitation for the leg break he suffered in his first spell at Kenilworth Road, that coming in the 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers on September 15, 2018.

O'Kane, who has played in the Premier League for Bournemouth and won seven Ireland caps as well, is in no condition to figure for Luton this term, but despite being ruled out for the rest of this campaign, Jones said: “Eunan won't be ready for this season, we wouldn't even risk him now, he’s had no real game time, no real building.

"He's looking much, much better, but it would be foolish for us to play him now.

“He was an outstanding player before he got injured so now we're hoping he returns back to that kind of level and if he does, we've got a wonderful player.”
