Luton boss Nathan Jones had high praise for midfielder Jordan Clark following the winger's move to Kenilworth Road from Accrington Stanley in the summer.

The 27-year-old is in his best vein of form so far as having arrived at the club in August, he only started three of the Hatters’ first 14 league games before beginning three matches in a row during early December.

Another spell on the bench followed, as Clark started just one of Town’s next eight Championship fixtures, before scoring at Chelsea in the FA Cup third round defeat, a goal which has led to the 27-year-old starting five out of the last six league matches.

He was the only bright spark in the 3-0 defeat at Stoke City last weekend, as he also impressed against Millwall on Tuesday night and should have had an assist to his name, with some fine wing play followed by an inviting cross was headed over the bar from close range by Elijah Adebayo.

Signed primarily as a winger, Clark has shown he can play in a right wing back position when needed, a position he had in midweek, as on the former Barnsley and Shrewsbury player's impact, he said: “He’s a wonderful player, a wonderful character, can play anywhere, he is just superb.

“Whatever I ask him to do, he’s fantastic, trains brilliantly every day, one of the top high speed runners, workers, productivity, everything.

“I’m really, really delighted with him and we’re delighted we have got him because he is a fantastic character, not only a good player as well.

“So whatever you want to say about him, I would endorse it no problem.”
