Luton duo Joe Morrell and Rhys Norrington-Davies both started, while Tom Lockyer was an unused substitute as Wales clinched promotion out of their Nations League group with a comfortable 3-1 victory against Finland in Cardiff this evening.

Needing only a draw to win their group, Wales assistant manager Robert Page stuck with the same formation which had seen them go seven consecutive competitive matches without conceding a goal, meaning Morrell won his 12th cap and Norrington-Davies his third.

They were given a huge boost when Jere Uronen was sent off after just 12 minutes for pulling back Harry Wilson as he raced on to keeper Danny Ward's long clearance.

Gareth Bale's free-kick was comfortably saved by Lukas Hradecky, who then denied the Spurs attacker superbly soon afterwards.

Wales did have the lead on 29 minutes though, Bale threading a through ball to Wilson, who found the net.

After the break, the hosts had their second within 60 seconds, Daniel James thrashing a fine effort into the top corner from 20 yards.

Finland pulled one back midway through the second half when Teemu Pukki beat Ward as Wales conceded their first goal in more than 12 hours of competitive football.

However, Kieffer Moore's late header from James' cross put the result beyond doubt, extending his side's unbeaten run in competitive matches to 11 for the first time in their history.
