Town pay the price for not taking chances

Hatters paid a harsh price for not taking their chances during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Plymouth Argyle according to Alex Lawless and Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu.

Town had the better of the first half, as Jake Howells missed two excellent opportunities, before the visitors stole victory just after the hour through Dominic Blizzard.

Midfielder Lawless: “We see it all over the place, every football game, getting the first goal is a massive thing.

“More so for us at the minute as we haven’t been doing that and haven’t had the taste of what it actually feels like to be 1-0 up a lot recently.

“That would have made a big difference and the away team, when they get their goal, it’s difficult to break down.”

That view was echoed by recalled midfielder Ruddock Mpanzu as he added: “I think if we get one, maybe we get two or three and the game would be dead and buried, so we’ve got to be more clinical.”
