Defender Sonny Bradley is targeting wins from Town’s final three games of the season to ensure they definitely remain a Championship side next term.

The Hatters entertain QPR tonight, before travelling to Hull City on Saturday and then hosting Blackburn Rovers next Wednesday evening.

Luton’s 2-0 win at Huddersfield last Friday saw them Nathan Jones' side off the bottom of the table, moving to within two points of safety, a position that didn’t change over the weekend, with a favourable set of results from the other strugglers.

Bradley said: “It’s an old fashioned saying but it’s true, we can only focus on ourselves, focus on the next game and that’s what we’re going to do.

“If we win the next three games, in my opinion, all winnable games, then I truly believe that we’ll stay in the division.

“In the grand scheme of things, it’s (Huddersfield victory) a good result.

“Obviously it brings them back into the mix, I think if they’d have won, they would have probably left feeling like they were safe.

"So it brings us a little bit closer to getting out of it and brings them back into the mix.

"Three big games to go and three games that I still feel we need to win.”

Town have returned to the season in decent form, with two wins, three draws and one defeat from six games, to give themselves every chance of staying up.

After bouncing back from the 5-0 thumping handed out by Reading at Kenilworth Road with four points out of a possible six, Bradley believes it shows the fighting spirit is alive and well.

He continued: “Listen we’ll never ever give up.

"You’ve seen us today (Friday night), we've come here and given 100 per cent, and you’ll get that from us for the next three games.

"The Reading game, we've been beaten 5-0 but still I don't think it’s a game where no-one has not given 100 per cent.

"I just think, no excuses but a few tired legs, a few sloppy goals and before you know it, the game’s gone, 3-0, 4-0, we're chasing the game.

"Is it a 5-0 game? Probably not, but that’s what happens when you play against teams with quality.

"So it is what it is, we’re closer to staying up, win the next three and we’ll definitely do it.”

Hatters go into this evening's game on 44 points, a tally that would have been enough to see them stay up in four of the last five Championship seasons.

However, they will need closer to 50 this term, if not even more, to secure their status, as Bradley added: “It shows how close it is.

"Someone told me the last two seasons, I think 42 points might have been enough, 41 points went down, but it's completely irrelevant as we know now, it’s going to be nearer the 50 mark.

"For us it’s one of them, you’ve just got to deal with it, there's so many teams in the mix.

"You can look at that as a positive or a negative and right now because we've just brought Huddersfield back into it, it’s a positive for us.

"If you look at the next three games, in my opinion, they’re all tough, don’t get me wrong, as we’ve got QPR, then we go to Hull next Saturday, Hull need to win to stay up, we need to win to stay up, they're massive games.

"It’s massive pressure, and we’ve got to be right at it.

"So it looks like it’s going to be near the 50 point mark and if we win the next three games, then we’ll hit it and we’ll stay up.”
