Luton's U21s were held to a goalless draw by National League South side Slough Town in their final pre-season friendly on Tuesday night.

The visitors had just three players with first team experience in their starting 11, Harry Isted, Jake Peck and Josh Neufville, although trio Corey Panter, Avan Jones and Sam Beckwith all featured heavily in Nathan Jones' warm-up matches.

Town had a decent chance on 16 minutes when Tyrelle Newton intercepted a pass out of defence, only to be denied by homer keeper Jack Turner.

Isted was called upon midway through the half, making an excellent save to turn a fierce drive from Dan Roberts behind.

Panter then dragged a volley across goal on the stroke of half time, while in the second period Nigerian attacker Temi Babalola, on trial from Concord Rangers, almost had the opener, just unable to connect with Jones’ ball across the box.

Slough threatened when Ada Okorogheye got in behind the visitors defence, but although his lob beat sub keeper Tiernan Parker, it landed on the roof of the net.

Town looked for a winner too, a deep corner by Beckwith met by Matt Moloney, whose volley was blocked, Panter heading the follow up set-piece wide.

Late on, Ed McJanett blasted off target from 15 yards as it finished all square.

Hatters: Harry Isted, Avan Jones, Sam Nsumbu, Matt Moloney, Corey Panter, Sam Beckwith, Tyrelle Newton, Jake Peck, Coree Wilson, Temi Babalola, Josh Neufville.

Subs: Tiernan Parker, Ramsay, Casey Pettit, Ed McJannet, Ben Stevens, Callum Nicolson, Joe Halsey, Tra Lucas.
