Trinidad star on his mad dash to join Hatters

NEW signing Collin Samuel admitted moving to Luton Town only just beat the transfer deadline shutting on Wednesday evening, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 30-year-old striker had been training with former club St Johnstone when the call came that he was wanted at Kenilworth Road, so he hopped on a plane to be unveiled as the first of Hatters manager Gary Brabin’s signings late in the day.

Samuel said: “I was at training and was heading home when about four o’clock in the afternoon I get a call saying about the move.

“So I drove back to the airport for eight o’clock to come and sign here at around nine o’clock.

I’m looking forward to getting out there and taking the opportunity I get.”
