Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt is remaining hopeful of signing Luton full back Peter Kioso on loan for a second time this season.

The 21-year-old was recalled this morning by the Hatters ahead of a busy Championship schedule which sees Town take on QPR, Bournemouth, Brentford and Rotherham in the next 12 days.

After Luton had to postpone their recent game against QPR due to a number of players returning positive Covid-19 tests, while fellow defender Martin Cranie is out with a calf injury and James Bree is only just getting up to speed, Jones opted to bring Kioso back to the club to bolster his defensive options.

He has admitted the former Dunstable and Hartlepool player could go out on loan again with the University of Bolton Stadium a possible destination once more, as speaking to BBC Radio Manchester, Evatt would welcome having Kioso back ahead of the February 1 deadline, saying: "Football changes fast.

"I spoke to Nathan on Friday and he was more than happy for him to stay, he knows he was doing well, he trusts me, he was in a good environment at a very good football club.

"One of their players has gone down with Covid, they thought he'd be okay but I understand he's struggling with 'Long Covid', so he's getting out of breath when exercising, and another one got injured.

"It's left them with one (replacement) and unfortunately Peter is their player and it's their right (to recall)."
