Hatters keeper Mark Tyler insists he benefiting hugely from some real competition for his place at Kenilworth Road this term.
Town boss John Still admitted after the 3-1 win at Cambridge that Tyler would have found himself on the bench with Elliot Justham starting, but for his partner giving birth.
Tyler was given the gloves and has since grabbed his opportunity with a man of the match display against Mansfield last week.
On the battle to be number one, Tyler said: “I love it, it’s brilliant. He’s (Justham) top class, we get on really well and work really hard together.
“We help each other, teach each other things. You’ve got to work hard every day, train hard and be on top of your game.
“When he plays I’m backing him 100 per cent and vice versa. It’s not about me playing every game, it’s about the best team going on that pitch to get the three points.”
