Tyler vows to win Luton place back

TOWN keeper Mark Tyler is relishing the battle to win his number one jersey back from Kevin Pilkington, writes Mike Simmonds.

The experienced stopper was recalled to the starting line-up for Saturday’s FA Trophy win over Swindon Supermarine after missing the last six games with Pilkington preferred by boss Gary Brabin.

Tyler, 34, showed exactly why he his rated as one of the best goalkeepers outside of League One with a tidy display, including a superb second half save from Ashley Edenborough.

He said: “No-one likes being left out of the team. You just have to work hard on the training ground day in day out and hopefully the gaffer will pick up on it.

“Me and Pilks get on great, there’s no hard feelings between us. I want him to do well and vice versa. Whoever’s got the number one shirt deserves it on merit.”
