Vultures circling Hatters youth stars

EXPOSED Luton are staving off illegal approaches that have been made to over 20 of their most talented youngsters as certain clubs look to pillage the Hatters’ best prospects, writes Mark Wood.

Both Brentford and Peterborough United have been reported to the football authorities over their inappropriate behaviour that has seen over one third of the club’s 13-to-16-year-old’s approached by other sides.

Outraged SoLYD chairman Simon Gibbs said: “SoLYD is a voluntary fundraising group and we work hard to support Luton’s youth development department.

“It is galling to see the best of Luton’s young players being poached by other clubs and thousands of pounds worth of investment and talent effectively being stolen from our books.”
