Wales boss Ryan Giggs is looking forward to the prospect of working with Luton's on-loan Sheffield United defender Rhys Norrington-Davies after handing him his first senior international call yesterday.

The 21-year-old, who moved to Kenilworth Road on a season-long deal from the Premier League club last month, has started the campaign in fine form, not missing a minute of league or cup action so far.

His impressive displays saw Manchester United legend Giggs promote him from the U21s, where he had won 14 caps, to the senior squad for their upcoming triple header against England, Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria, the latter two being Nations League fixtures.

Speaking to the Welsh official website, Giggs said, “”He’s someone who we’ve kept an eye on.

"Pagey (Robert Page assistant coach) has worked with him, he knows him well and knows him as a lad and speaks highly of him.

“I’ve seen him a couple of times, I watched him against Germany for the under-21s and also recently, he played against (Manchester) United for Luton.

"He’s a player I’m looking forward to seeing because, like I say, I’ve heard really good things about him, not only his quality but his character off Pagey.”
