The 25-year-old was released by the Hatters last month having made just six appearances and ending the season on loan at Conference South side Boreham Wood.

Walker had been prolific in Town’s Development squad, but only earned one start for Town, that an FA Cup tie at Bury.

Speaking to the Shots’ official website, he said: “He’s (John Still) a great manager, I’m disappointed I didn’t get more opportunities as I think I could have done well for him.

“He wanted to get promoted again, so it was probably difficult for him to put in an inexperienced player like me in the Football League.

“But my whole game progressed in my year at Luton. My hold-up play improved a lot, so I like to think that I’m a bit of an all-rounder, but it’s all about scoring goals.

“I want to be playing first-team football every week and feel that I can do that here. I know Jim Stevenson and he’s spoken highly of Aldershot Town. This is a massive club and it’s the best club for me to be at – I’d be silly not to want to come here.

“I want to be playing in the Football League and Aldershot Town want to be playing in the Football League, and if we can both progress together that would be ideal for me.”
