Hatters keeper Christian Walton doesn’t believe the disappointment of conceding a late goal against Yeovil on Saturday will have any affect on the players against Newport County this evening.
It had looked like Town were going to make it two wins out of two in the league until Tom Eaves rose highest with 13 minutes remaining to draw the Glovers level.

However, Walton expects his team-mates to bounce back quickly, saying:L “It was a disappointing goal, we knew what they were coming to do, sit in as a team and hopefully get us on the counter.
“But we had plenty of chances in the first half and that’s what we need, we just needed to put them to bed early on, but that wasn’t to be.
When a team does come and sit in, when you do get those changes, you’ve got to be taking them as then you’re putting them on the back foot and staying on top.

Although Luton are now playing their third game in just seven days, Walton wasn’t worried about coping with the demands of such a congested start to the campaign.
He continued: “With the week we’ve had, putting a massive shift away at Plymouth and then again on Wednesday night (against Villa), tiredness is going to kick in, but it’s just pushing yourself that little bit extra and getting the most out of yourself.
“We’ve got players we can bring on, the squad’s magnificent this year, so we’ve got players that can come on if we do blow up as a team.
“Games are coming thick and fast, so it’s getting your recovery right and being fresh for Tuesday night to hopefully start right and go and get an early goal to put us on the front foot and get another win.”
Town are hoping that Alan Sheehan is fit for the clash, but Walton is confident the side can continue coping in his absence should the defender not make it.
He added: “He’s an outstanding player and did well for the club when he was here on loan, obviously, as they went and signed him.
“He’s a big player for this team and this division, but we’ve got a great outfit so squad is full of depth with Scotty Cuthbert being able to step in last week and doing an outstanding job at Plymouth.
“It just shows the depth we have here at the club, I don’t think I’d single out anyone at the back as we’ve been pretty solid.”
