The 28-year-old was introduced as a 58th-minute sub as he made his first appearance since mid-October.

And with the Hatters trailing 2-1 he had a great opportunity to equalise when Mark Cullen set him one-on-one with Lee Butcher, only for the keeper to deny him.

He said: “It’s great to be back and stuff and that’s positive in itself and then it’s a bit of a negative really in having that opportunity like that to go and equalise and then kick on.

“I’ve put them away so many times that I’m disappointed to not have put that one away.”
