Woolley brace is not enough

HATTERS: Despite a brace from Jake Woolley a Luton Town youth team succumbed to a 3-2 friendly defeat to Crawley Green at Sharpenhoe Road on Saturday.

Twice the Hatters came from behind to level the scores as the first half finished 2-2, but Luton eventually lost out to a late winner from the Molten Spartan SML Division One side.

Town boss Paul Driver said: “It was a respectable performance by a group of 15 to 17 year olds against senior opposition who play at the sort of level we would initially put the scholars out to in order to gain experience of the senior game in their second year with us. Hopefully, we have learned lessons from the experience of playing in this different type of game to what we are accustomed to.”
