Molten Spartan SML round-up: Kent romp to comfortable win

Despite a broken down car and late kick off Kent Athletic romped to a 4-1 victory at Aston Clinton in Molten Spartan SML Division Two on Saturday.

Pat Daly (64 and 74) netted twice for Kent after and Tom O’Mara (24) and Jason Penman (32) had put them ahead.

Penman then saw an audacious effort from inside his own tipped over for a corner before D Phillips replied in the second minute of injury time.

The 61FC (Luton) went down to a 5-0 defeat at Hale Leys United as R Whittle (16 and 67) and T Brindley (21 and 28) netted braces alongside a goal from M Tatum (88).

Totternhoe and Pitstone & Ivinghoe fought out a 2-2 draw as strikes from C Golding (51) and Lee Loasby (80) were cancelled out by double from C Deakin (70 and 89), while Caddington’s game at Brimsdown was postponed.

In Reserve Division One, AFC Dunstable Reserves lost 7-5 at Cockfosters Reserves, Kent Athletic Reserves drew 2-2 at home with Baldock Town Reserves with goals from Timi Akerele and Andrew Godman, as did The 61FC (Luton) Reserves with St Margaretsbury Reserves.

Meanwhile, Reserve Division Two saw Totternhoe Reserves triumphed 2-1 at Langford Reserves.

This Saturday Kent Athletic host Old Bradwell United, The 61 FC (Luton) entertain Mursley United and Totternhoe are at home to Willen in Division Two.

Reserve Division One sees AFC Dunstable Reserves host St Margaretsbury Reserves and Kent Athletic Reserves go to London Colney Reserves, while in Reserve Division Two Totternhoe Reserves visit Biggleswade United Reserves and Crawley Green Reserves are at home to Old Bradwell United Reserves.
