No unlucky 13 as AFC tie it up at the top

SML Premier Division

AFC Dunstable 3 Hillingdon Borough 1

AFC Dunstable moved joint top of the Molten Spartan SML Premier Division after winning their 13th straight league game with a 3-1 win over Hillingdon Borough on Saturday.

The breakthrough came when Richard Harker headed home from close range after good work by Jonathan Barnett on 31 minutes.

In the second half, AFC continued to have most of the ball, but it took a sublime run and finish by BJ Christie on 71 minutes to ease any nerves.

Substitute Terry Billy then made an instant impact as he was fouled in the box and Gareth Harnaman converted the spot-kick.

Hillingdon pulled a goal back with nine minutes to go when skipper Tom Kirk headed home a corner, but the game finished on a sour note when visiting substitute Paul Haynes aimed a head butt at Olaleye and was sent off.

This Saturday AFC travel to Tring and on Wednesday they entertain bogey team Berkhamsted.
