Peacock and Vaughan sign to boost Rovers squad

Barton Rovers have strengthened their squad by confirming the signings of Nat Peacock and Niran Vaughan.

Peacock has experienced two spells before at Barton before moving on, only to be unlucky with injuries.

Joint first team manager Wes Byrne said: “He has committed for the season and feels he has unfinished business, and I am very excited to be able to work with such an exciting front pairing of Nat and Keshi Anderson. I’m sure the squad we are assembling will be a force in the league this season.”

Vaughan has proved his value to the squad and gained vast experience over the past few seasons and will be certainly looking to secure his place in the team.

On Saturday they won 3-0 at Romulus at Sutton Coldfield FC with goals from Liam McDevitt, Kenny Ogbuana and trialist Dale Turney.

It was good test against a big strong team, and Barton played some really positive football in very very hot conditions. There was a great performance from the defence, from 18-year-old Billy Lannon and another workmanlike showing from Ricky Young smashing the crossbar from 25 yards out.

Last Tuesday Barton won 5-2 at Arlesey Town. with goals from trialist Anthony Ottaway, a Keshi Anderson wondergoal, Nat Peacock, Kenny Ogbuana and adebut strike for young Connor Vincent.

There were some great positives from the game with Ricky Young, James Peters and Ashley Fitton all providing glimpses of their quality. Kevin Kilroy slipped back into the swing of things with a commanding display alongside Joe Reynolds in midfield.
