Pigott backs Hatters to end home goal drought

Luton Town striker Joe Pigott believes that it's only a matter of time before his side end their goal drought at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters haven’t scored since Danny Green’s 66th minute penalty against Northampton Town during a 4-3 home defeat on December 12, a run spanning over three games and almost five hours now.

But Pigott, who joined on loan for the rest of the season last week, was confident that will change ahead of tonight’s clash against Yeovil Town.

He said: “I’m sure they’ll come, it’s just a matter of time really.

“I’m looking forward to it, we’ve got to be looking for three points every time we play at home. It was a bit disappointing to lose again against Notts County, but we’ll go again Tuesday.

“I think we were dominant for most periods of the game on Saturday, so if continue to play how we did, hopefully the goals will come for us and we can stop conceding them too.”

Pigott is hoping that his new side can also try and string some results together to give themselves an outside chance of featuring in the play-offs this season.

He added: “We just need to get a run of games together as you’ve seen what happens in football, as soon as you get three points week in week out anything can happen.

“If we get a run of games together now, we’ll see how it goes.”
