Rovers claim derby victory over Leighton Town
Football: Barton Rovers eased to a 3-0 Boxing Day victory over near neighbours Leighton Town in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central.
The Blues led 1-0 at the break thanks to Rhys Hoenes’ 15th-minute strike. Aaron Lansiquot doubled their lead nine minutes into the second half and Bobby Dance’s 74th-minute penalty sealed a fine 3-0 victory as the Blues made it six wins in a row at home.
This Saturday they host lowly Woodford United, who are without a point in the league.
