Rovers edged out by Poppies

Barton Rovers went down to a narrow 3-2 defeat at Southern League Division One Central leaders Kettering on Tuesday night.

After the game was delayed for 25 minutes by a floodlight failure, Rovers took control and went ahead through Keshi Anderson’s 30th minutes strike.

However, the Poppies drew level just before half time as Jason Lee netted.

Kettering then moved 3-1 in front as Elliot Sandy (46) and Andy Hall (55) were both on target.

Barton substitute Ricky Young pulled a late goal back but it wasn’t enough.
Rovers travel to Leighton this weekend and host Ampthill Town in the Bedfordshire Senior Cup first round on Tuesday.
