Rovers held at home by Marlow

Southern League Division One Central: Barton Rovers 0 Marlow 0

Barton Rovers were held to a goalless draw by Marlow at Sharpenhoe Road on Tuesday evening.

The visitors defence was solid for most of the night keeping Barton’s impressive strike force limited to long shots.

However O’Neal Garnes in goal for Marlow made three quality saves to keep Marlow in the game as Rovers man of the match Jack Keating impressed again, and was unlucky not to score.

Both Connor Vincent and Rhys Hones also missed chances, while Luton Town loanee Lucas Perry had another solid game at left back.

For much of the night, Barton keeper Kyle Forster was a spectator as the hosts had two penalty decisions waved away as well.

Barton travel to fourth place Rugby on Saturday, where a win would put them in the play off places and above their opponents.
