Barton Rovers put in a battling performance on Tuesday evening at basement side North Greenford as their Southern League Division One Central clash finished goalless.

Rovers were still down to bare bones through injuries as they handed a first team debut to youngster Albie Hall.

Greenford were up for a fight from the off and the young north London side gave it their all to keep Barton at bay.

Alex O’Brien had the best of the first half chances as both teams cancelled each other out.

Rovers changed formation for the second half and dominated the whole 45 minutes.

Efforts from George Ironton, Tyler Ingham and O’Brien were all saved by Greenford’s 17-year-old keeper before Paul Andrews watched the young shot stopper deny him from close rang.

O’Brien hit the bar as did Ingham in the closing stages, but neither team could find a way through as Rovers stayed 17th in the table.

Barton entertain Uxbridge at Sharpenhoe Road on Saturday, while they also visit Aylesbury on Monday.
