Sad Rovers routed by Coalville in FA Trophy

Barton Rovers 0 Coalville Town 5

Barton Rovers went out of the FA Trophy after a heavy defeat to Northern Premier One South side Coalville Town at the weekend.

The hosts day started badly as with 64 seconds on the clock, Anthony Carney’s fiercely-struck volley hit Paul Andrews on the hand from just four yards out.

Andrews was dismissed, while the resulting penalty was fired into the net by Cameron Stuart.

Rovers then fell 4-0 down with just 22 minute gone and although they improved in the second half, the fifth arrived on 75 minutes.

Barton entertain Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central leaders Godalming Town this weekend, while the club are also at home to Rothwell Corinthians in the FA Youth Cup on Friday night, kick-off 7.45pm.
