Senior Football: Go Bowling strike Stewkley win

Go Bowling continued their good run with a hard fought 3-2 win at Stewkley in Leighton & District Sunday League Division One.

Stewley took a two-goal lead as Go Bowling looked down and out at half time.

But Matt Conway gave Bowling hope early into the second half with a well taken goal after good work by Henry Steel.

Constant pressure was rewarded when Bowling were awarded a penalty which Aidey Millard converted.

Searching for a winner, Matt Conway scored a great individual goal to secure all three points.

Bowling’s man of the match was Wayne O’Connor, who battled the whole game and got his just rewards.

A Nathan Miller penalty in the second half sealed victory for AC Cadoza as they won 2-1 at Broadwalk in the North Home Counties Sunday League Premier Division.

In difficult conditions Cadoza took the lead in the first half through a Barry Clarke effort with Broadwalk equalising to level the score at half time.

Division One Caddington thrashed understrength Division Two side AC Cadoza Reserves 8-0 in round two of the Bedfordshire Sunday Junior Cup.

Caddington scored four in each half as they made use of the new roll on, roll off rule to progress to the next round.

Both of the early pacesetters in the Bedfordshire Veterans Nine-A-Side League Southern Division won tight games.

Sundon Vets were 3-1 victors over Dunstable Town with Latino Heat Vets, in their first season, edging it 2-1 against current Cup holders Real Social Dads.

Southern Division: Dunstable Town Vets 1 Sundon Vets 3; Latino Heat Vets 2 Real Social Dads 1.
