Crawley Green made it six wins from six as they came from behind to defeat Woodford Town at the weekend.

The visitors paid for a slow start, as they found themselves 1-0 behind after 10 minutes when Dean Bull’s poor punch was seized upon by Simmonds, who finished well from 12 yards.

This acted as the spur that Crawley needed as they were level on 15 minutes when Sam Peveral’s superb corner was headed home by Stuart Strange.

Soon afterwards, Green’s Terry Billy somehow missed an open goal as he managed to skew the ball wide for a goal kick.

However, the striker only had to wait four minutes to redeem himself as a free kick from the lively Aaron Brown was nodded back across goal by Tom Barnet for Billy to convert his simple close range header.

In the second half, Crawley’s afternoon was made considerably more difficult as Barnet and his opponent Richmond square up to each other.

With both players retaliating, the official opted to send only Barnet off, with Richmond receiving just a caution.

However, Crawley reorganised and were relatively comfortable even being one man short.

They went on to seal the win too as on 87 minutes, Ashton Grant firing home from the edge of the box after good work by Liam Toomey.

The result sees Crawley stay two points clear at the top, while this weekend, they are on the road, travelling to Brimsdown.
