Molten Spartan SML Premier Division leaders Dunstable Town secured a league double over Levestock Green with a comprehensive 6-0 win at Creasey Park on Saturday.

Lee Roache secured his fifth hat-trick of the season to bring his total to 45 goals in all competitions this season.

Director of football John McLoughlin said: “Again teams are playing so defensive against us that we have to be patient but Tony Burnett set the ball rolling with a superb strike and we controlled the midfield to help Lee Roache get his fifth hat-trick and all the strikers are in fine form which makes it difficult to get Nick Jackson and BJ Christie a good run.

“Our aim is to keep winning games and not get complacent, but I believe we are achieving our goals.”

The Blues, playing in front of a crowd of 104, attacked from the outset and Burnett cut inside to open the scoring after just six minutes.

Leverstock were forced to defend continually, while Jamie Davidge’s looping shot struck the bar from their one attack.

Roache though doubled Town’s lead on 22 minutes when he ran in on goal to net a half-volley.

Keeper Tom Coulton pulled off a string of saves to deny Roache and Nathan Frater as the Blues led just 2-0 at the break.

Coulton pulled of his best save to deny man of the match Danny Mead, with the full-back’s shot destined for back of the net.

Blues substitute Christie rifled into the roof of the net on 48 minutes after good play in the Leverstock area.

Dunstable attacked continually and Roache bagged his second after 53 minutes.

Substitute Jackson added the fifth goal after with 18 minutes to go after Dunstable had laid siege to Green’s penalty area, before Roache completed his hat-trick with 11 minutes left.

Dunstable stay 13 points clear at the top and extended their unbeaten run to 30 league games.

Tonight (Tuesday) they were due to host Biggleswade United and travel to London Colney on Saturday.
