Superb Dunstable FC thrash Kings Langley as Barton Rovers are held
Dunstable FC produced a superb performance from start to finish to convincingly win 4-0 at Kings Langley 4-0 in the SSML Premier Division on Saturday.
The Blues began as they meant to go on, attacking from minute one, which almost led to an early opening goal, only for Aiden Swaby to see his shot cannon off the bar. The hosts were limited to efforts from range, including one from Louis Collier, as he dragged his attempt wide.

Despite their dominance, Dunstable had to wait until the 34th minute to take the lead, Dan Forde playing Swaby in down the right, who crossed for Luka Lodder to find the net from close range. Minutes before half time the visitors almost increased their lead when Jake Anthony shot narrowly wide, as Lodder swiftly forced Haf Al Droubi into a fine save before firing off target a minute later.
Debutant Matt Burch in the Blues goal was rarely troubled as his defence stood firm with blocks and tackles flying in, while Dunstable also sought to score a second, which eventually came in the 73rd minute when Mulik Rickman set up Anthony who made it 2-0 with a composed finish. Soon after the game was virtually over when Kai Phelan nodded a corner into the path of Lodder, as he pounced to double his tally for the afternoon.
Boss Steve O'Reilly made several changes to deservedly rest some tired limbs before Dunstable scored a fourth in the 90th minute, Israel Ajana picking out Kenny Nobrega in acres of space inside the box to finish past Al Droubi. Dunstable entertain North Greenford United in the FA Cup at the weekend.
» Barton Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw for the second Southern League Division One Central game running on Saturday, as they shared the points against Leverstock Green.
Having taken a point from their opening fixture at Hertford Town last Tuesday night, Joshua Rodrigues on target, it was the visitors who settled first at the Winton Haulage Stadium, hitting the post early on. However, Barton then had the lead midway through the half when Powfil Raposa latched on to a good pass to slot home the opener.
It stayed that way until the second half, Rawn Seale coming on for Lucas Jordan, but Leverstock equalised with just seven minutes left through Ashton Corder to ensure they left with a share of the spoils. Boss Chris Robson said: "Saturday was a game of two halves as the cliche goes. I felt we were comfortable in the first half without getting out of second gear. "Second half we were really poor, but credit to Leverstock who I felt were superb in the second period. A point was a fair result." Barton are back in action on Saturday when they host Welwyn Garden City.
