Top five all win in Bedfordshire League Premier

There is no change at the head of the Premier Division supported by Sportsform table following wins for the top five clubs on Saturday.

Still leading the way three points clear are Renhold United who took their winning ways up to seven with a 2-1 home win over Pavenham who have now lost their last four games.

Ben Brown and Alex Woolston scored the vital goals against one in reply from Nick Payne.

Whilst second place AFC Oakley M&DH are now unbeaten in their last eight home starts after beating Cranfield United 3-2. Shaun Barnett, Reuben Joseph-Hukin and Matt Barnes were on their scoresheet against United replies via James Armstrong and Martin Holland.

The joint biggest winners of the day were third place Wilstead who made it four wins on the bounce with a 5-0 home success over Sharnbrook who were losing for the first time in seven outings.

Adam Budek netted a brace and he was joined on the scoresheet by Colin Marshall, Paul Jones and Liam Fenton to bring up the nap hand.

Whilst fourth place Flitwick Town took their unbeaten ways up to five games with a likewise 5-0 home win over bottom of the table Elstow Abbey, Vinicious Dortario netting twice alongside single strikes from Richie Bevan, Jim Lewis and Callum Jones to send the Abbey to their ninth away defeat of the season.

Elsewhere fifth place AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College made it three wins on the bounce with a 3-2 home victory over second from bottom of the table Eastcotts AFC who have now lost their last seven games. Courtney Broughton, Tim Clarke and Mike Stephenson were the home goalscorers against replies from Kaylen Wilson and Tim Larrier for the visitors.

Having lost their last four away outings Sandy returned to winning ways on the road with a 3-0 victory at Shefford Town & Campton who were duly losing their five game unbeaten run. Matt Clark, twice, and Jack Webb scored the vital goals.

The Marston Shelton Rovers v Ampthill Town Reserves game was postponed.

Sundon Park Rangers remain eight points clear at the head of the Division One supported by Wests Citroen league table despite being held to a 2-2 home draw by Riseley Sports.

Pearce Tracey and Matthew Conway were on the Rangers scoresheet against replies from James Law and Samuel Harrision for the Sportsmen.

With Stevington’s game at Potton Town postponed now up above them into second spot are Meltis Albion who ran out 4-2 winners at AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves.

Scott Alleyne led the way with a hat-trick and was joined on the Albion scoresheet by Carl Townsend against Town replies from Jake Duxbury and Jessie Sidhu.

Missing the chance to take over that second spot were Queens Park Crescents who were beaten 4-0 at Henlow who were duly recording their fourth home win on the bounce. Antony Bowskill with a brace plus Gary Hillard and Kaan Fehmi netted the goals to do the damage.

Shefford Town & Campton Reserves are now unbeaten in their last five league starts after running out 4-3 home winners over second from bottom of the table Houghton Athletic. Jack Lannon, Steve Moules, Adam Spoors and David Gill were all on the Town scoresheet against replies via Jordan Thomas, Przemyslaw Targowski and Ali Mohiyaldeen.

The scheduled Centenary Cup tie between Westoning and Ickleford was postponed.

Cranfield United Reserves’ lead in Division Two is down to just three points after their unbeaten league record was blown away by third place Flitwick Town Reserves who beat them 1-0 at Crawley Road thanks to a goal from Mark Funnell.

Whilst second place Cople & Bedford SA took full advantage to close the gap on United with a 4-0 home victory over Wootton Village, Ollie Hughes netting twice alongside single strikes from James Dougan and Dominic Andrews.

Also still very much in the promotion race are Clapham Sports who retained their 100% home record with a 6-3 victory over Lea Sports PSG.

Grant Williams and Ishmael George with braces were joined on the scoresheet by Liam Bolton and Nathan O’Halleran against PSG replies via Jordan Yearwood twice and Robert Hannam.

Whilst Bedford United were defeated for the first time in four home starts when beaten 5-1 by Kempston Hammers Sports. Shaun Winconek with a hat-trick and Jimmy Grandidge with a brace brought up the Hammers nap hand against a lone United reply via Valentino Ukegbu.

The scheduled Kempston Athletic v Atletico Europa game was postponed.

Division Three leaders Wixams took another giant step towards the title by running out 6-0 winners at Dinamo Flitwick. Gareth White led the way with a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by Iain Hall, Adam Jellis and Ashley Pratt who all scored once.

Whilst second place Sundon Park Rovers kept the pressure on by running out 1-0 home winners over Renhold United Reserves thanks to a goal from Craig Barnes.

Having won their last seven home games third place Caldecote Reserves failed to make it eight in a row when held to a 2-2 draw by AFC Dunton. Josh St Clair Pierre and Adam Legate were on target for the home side against replies from Craig Hill and Tony Norman for the visitors.

Now just a point behind them in fourth spot are Wilstead Reserves who took their winning ways up to six games with an 8-2 win at bottom of the table Clifton. Luke Pursey with a hat-trick was joined on the scoresheet by strikes from Callum Evans, Ryan Davenport, Sam Ward, Luke Prietzel and Robert Booth against home replies from Gavin Ratford and Jonny Cole. For second from bottom Meltis Albion Reserves, after five straight defeats it was a 4-2 home win over White Eagles who have now lost their own five league games on the bounce to slip down the table into eighth spot. Asa Garlick scored twice alongside single strikes from Shane Garlick and Sylvester Mulenga for the Albion against Eagles replies via Marcin Ptak and Arkadivsz Boruch.

With Division Four leaders Mid Beds Tigers sitting the afternoon out second place Bedford Albion closed the gap to just six points with a 3-2 home win over AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College A.

Shaun Challi netted twice and Josh Emmerton once against Town replies via Giovanni Moscaritolo and Joseph Orgunremi.

Whilst third place Polonia Bedford were beaten 3-0 at Flitwick Town A who were duly taking their unbeaten ways up to five games, Paulo De Macedo, Ross Irving and Stuart Ironmonger getting the goals to do the damage.

Alas for bottom of the table Lidlington United Sports it was defeat number 16 on the bounce when beaten 9-0 at home by Stevington Reserves. Sam Nightingale led the way with a hat-trick, Cameron Cain and Aaron Fletcher weighing in with braces to go alongside single strikes from Clinton Tatham and Reece Williams.

Watson Shield Round One

Sandy Reserves will now travel to Lidlington United Sports in round two after running out penalty shoot-out winners over Westoning Reserves after 120 minutes play saw the sides deadlocked at 1-1.

Aaron Turner for Westoning and Michael Rushton for Sandy scored in the opening 90 minutes, only for Sandy, after a blank extra time, emerging the 4-2 shoot-out winners thanks to successful spot kicks from Recardo McKay, Sam Trolley, Lee Perkins and Aiden London.
