Wadhams on target as 61 FC end losing run

The 61 FC (Luton) ended a run of 11 straight defeats in all competitions by beating bottom side Clean Slate 1-0 in the SSML Division Two on Saturday.

The hosts, who also triumphed at home for the first time since the opening day, notched the winner through Ashley Wadhams as they also kept a first clean sheet of the campaign.

Kent Athletic made comfortable progress in the Beds Senior Trophy after a hefty 6-1 win at Ickwell & Old Warden.

Jason Penman and Connor Waite both scored twice, with Pat Daly and Sean Downey on target for the visitors.

Totternhoe also went through in the Division One Cup as they saw off Loughton Manor 2-0 at home.

Anthony Wright put the hosts in front on 57 minutes, while Joe Smith added a second just two minutes later to complete victory.

This weekend, Kent head to league leaders Hale Leys United in the Division Two Cup, while The 61 FC host Wolverton Town in the league.

AFC Dunstable entertain Cockfosters in the Reserve Challenge Trophy, while Reserve Division South & East sees Crawley Green visit St Margaretsbury.
