Wanted man Sheehan only had eyes for Luton
Town fought off the attentions from a number of other teams to capture the 29-year-old on a two-year deal last week, after the Irishman enjoyed an excellent loan spell at the club last term, with a number of eye-catching displays.
Speaking exclusively to the News/Gazette, Sheehan confirmed Luton was always his number one choice, as he said: “There was a good couple of clubs, but I wasn’t really interested, I enjoyed playing for Luton and under Nathan Jones, so for me it’s all about enjoying my football.

“I really enjoyed it, I played 20 games in a row which was good, I was happy with how it went, the fans have been great to me, so I didn’t really see a reason to go anywhere else.”
Playing for Town boss Nathan Jones was also a huge factor in Sheehan’s decision as he continued: “I’ve said it before, he’s so hungry and passionate and since he’s come in we’ve won a number of games.
“The style he wants to play is night and day. It’s pass, pass, pass, which some fans are going to want to launch it forward at some stage, and there is a time to do that. But I think it’s about being patient and trusting and exactly what the manager wants to do.

The reaction on social media to Sheehan signing has been a hugely positive one too as the defender quipped: “It’s incredible, unbelievable. The way they’ve been at times, I thought they were kind of mixing me up with someone else!”
