Youth Football: Youngsters return in force after long lay-off due to the weather

Barton Rovers earned a 3-1 victory over Houghton Athletic in U13 Division Two of the Chiltern Youth League.

Barton Rovers continued their good form with another win and clean sheet as they beat a very good Bedford Town side 4-0 in U12 Division Two.

On a heavy pitch and in windy conditions Rovers played some fantastic football to take all three points.

Harry Hudson scored direct from a terrific curling corner, before Matthew Potter went on to score a hat trick after some mesmerising team play saw him power through the defence to keep up his rich-goal scoring form.

In a great performance James Brandham was named man of the match for an assured defensive display.

Dunstable Town battled to a 7-4 victory over Barton Rovers in U11 Division Three.

Barton Rovers were well beaten 5-0 by Bushmead Rovers in Chiltern Junior Sevens League U11 Division One.

Great goals from Ross Taylor, Oscar Hoyle and man of the match Jude Poulten weren’t enough for Barton Rovers as they lost their local derby at Maulden Magpies in U10 Division Three 4-3.

After scoring two early goals and playing some fantastic football the Blues tired and were unfortunate to lose a game they should have taken points from, while in Division Four Barton Rovers Whites were well beaten 8-1 by Toddington Rovers Hawks.

Two goals from Brandon Drake and one from Samuel Boggon saw league leaders Barton Rovers win 3-0 at third-placed Sundon Park Rangers in Bedfordshire Youth Saturday League U14 Division One.

A hat-trick from Daniel Smith along with two goals from Ryan Branford and one from Jack Dreyer saw Barton Rovers Blues win 7-1 at Luton Leagrave in Division Two.

After a 10-week break Barton Rovers produced a great performance to beat Luton Allstars 7-4 in U13 Division One.

Rovers started well and dominated possession in the first half as they deservedly led 4-2 at half time.

Allstars came out after the break with renewed determination to drew level at 4-4, but Barton dug deep on a tough pitch to grab three more goals without reply.

Star man Aaron Daniels scored a hat-trick, Kane O’Neil netted a brace and there were goals for Connor MacMillan and Ashley Ingham.
