Hide AdMatches two and three turned out to be close-run affairs with the pairings of Tony Weymouth and Andy Whipp, plus Ian Tottingham and Paul Burr, suffering single hole defeats.
The final match out on the course had current club champion Luke Charnley alongside Dave Philpott and, after falling into a two-hole deficit early on, the pair stormed back to win by five.
The match ended in a draw but with South Beds having a good hole differential which may prove to be the difference at the end of the competition.
