HOCKEY: Chiltern Ladies held by West Herts


The visitors started brightly, but went 1-0 down against the run of play.
However, Chiltern responded well as they continued attacking, with an equaliser coming when Kate Isger’s strike was instinctively tapped in at the back post by Donna Brown.

Hide AdSome superb saves from the West Herts keeper kept the scores level at the break, while in the second period, Isger and Chelsea Wright pushed their side forward, with new signing Alison Main impressing in central midfield.
Chiltern got their noses in front when Emma Bright won a short corner and the set-piece was converted by last year’s top scorer Emma Cook.
West Herts threw players forward for a leveller and despite a great save from keeper Hayley Murphy, the hosts snatched a draw late on.
Chiltern IIs were awarded a 3-0 walkover win in Division Three after Broxbourne IVs failed to raise a side.

Hide AdIn Division Four, Chiltern IIIs hit back to draw 2-2 against Tring IIIs.
Tring took the lead within five minutes, but player of the match Lauren House soon levelled after some fine wingplay.
The visitors swiftly restored their advantage, but after the break, Chiltern came out fighting as Bethany Carlisle, Lauren House and Sarah Broadhurst all went close.
Late on, Chiltern made it 2-2 as Bev Siddons was on target, although the visitors were unable to notch a winner.
