HOCKEY: Cook and Bright bag doubles for Chiltern Ladies

Emma Cook and Emma Bright scored twice as Chiltern Ladies hammered Cheshunt 5-0 in Five Counties League Division One at the weekend.

Bright started proceedings with a bullet shot from a short corner, as they dominated the first half with Katie Street, Donna Brown, Carolyn Doherty and Kate Isger controlling the midfield.

Chiltern’s defence of Nicki Tiley, Alison Main and Chloe Guy ensured keeper Chris Routley had a quiet first period, with two goals added before half time.

Cook scored them both, one a penalty flick for the division’s leading marksman and another from open play.

A brilliant performance from Cheshunt’s keeper kept the score down at the break, but in the second period Chelsea Wright threatened, while star player Alison Main come close.

Winger Donna Brown added a well deserved goal, while the fifth arrived when Bright produced a classy finish.

In Division Three, birthday girl Ilona Clifton netted a hat-trick as the IIs thrashed Luton IIs 8-0, while in Division Four, Chiltern IIIs were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Royston.
