HOCKEY: Keeper O’Shea on form but Chiltern are beaten
A fine defensive display by the hosts, including another excellent performance from keeper Miranda O’Shea kept the scores goalless early on.
Chiltern then came close to an opener as Beth Carlisle shot wide, while Emma Cook’s mazy run ended with a cross that flashed off target.

Hide AdAfter the break, the visitors had a goal disallowed, before Chiltern upped the tempo again, Lorna Pead going close, with Cook’s low shot deflected narrowly wide.
O’Shea was called upon to make some further fine stops, but she was eventually beaten for the opener that came against the run of play.
Chiltern tried to find a leveller as Chelsea Wright put a ball into the D, only to see Cook’s reverse stick attempt blocked.
Nicki Tiley was named player of the match.
In Division Three, Chiltern IIs won 2-0 at Berkhamsted and Hemel IIs.

Hide AdThe visitors were ahead when a side line hit from Lorri Croft followed by a quick ball into the D from Jackie Dadd was converted by Holly Steward.
It was soon 2-0 when Chloe Hutton scored with a sweet low strike from a short corner.
After the break, Berkhamsted came back well, but stand-in keeper Ilona Clifton held firm with Hutton named player of the match.
Division Five saw Chiltern IIIs draw 1-1 against Stevenage Vs.
Chiltern had the lead in the first half when Gill Sentinella turned in star player Natalie Cook’s fierce shot, but Stevenage levelled to ensure a share of the spoils.
